Carbon Monoxide Alarms
Carbon Monoxide (Chemical name: CO) is a silent,
scentless, and invisible
killer. It is caused by the combustion of any carbon fuel such as wood, charcoal or gas, and if it
is not properly vented, it can threaten your life and the lives of your loved ones. Most CO detectors
only sound an alarm when it senses Carbon Monoxide in the air, and nothing more. This is why Maximum
Security Services installs the next generation of CO Detectors, ULTRAGUARD.
Not only is having CO detectors in your home a good idea, It's the law.
Amanda's Law
Requires all Homes to have a Carbon Monoxide Detector.
On February 22, 2010 New York State law required every dwelling in the state to have a
carbon monoxide detector.
The law is called "Amanda's Law," named after a Western New York teenager who died of carbon
monoxide poisoning.
Fire officials said that because carbon monoxide is nearly impossible to notice on your own,
the best way to stay safe is with carbon monoxide detectors.
