The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) has designed their Five Diamond Central Station Certification Program to help the best commercial central monitoring stations stand out in the marketplace. This program covers all aspects of the central monitoring station’s operations and sets standards for each central station operator. The CSAA Five Diamond Program is based upon five points of excellence:

Underwriters Laboratories (U.L.) Monitoring Requirements

Underwriters Laboratories (U.L.) has set many requirements for commercial central security system monitoring stations which other stations simply cannot meet. These include:

Mandating a minimum number of operators on duty per shift

Mandating an uninterrupted power supply

Mandating at least two separate types of communication to emergency response authorities, including telephone, direct-ring leased line, cellular, radio, and others

Mandating that the central monitoring station be protected from fire and intrusion

Mandating that 24-hour test signals be sent
